58-year-old man loses Rs 31 lakh in online scam: Telegram, YouTube likes and more, here's how he was duped

A retired insurance company employee invested his pension and gratuity in a work from home scam and was duped of Rs 31 lakh. The scam involved multiple tasks and cryptocurrency transactions. Initially, the victims were paid for liking YouTube videos and were later asked to open a crypto wallet and buy USDT. The victim was introduced to a group admin, who encouraged him to invest more. However, when the victim tried to transfer the money to his bank account, he was not able to as the wallet link disappeared. The cybercrime police station in the west region has registered a case and frozen nine bank accounts with Rs 20 lakh in them.
