US lawmakers urge Biden administration to tighten AI chip export rules

Two US lawmakers have asked the Biden administration to strengthen export controls on artificial intelligence (AI) chips. The letter from Mike Gallagher and Raja Krishnamoorthi, who chair the House of Representatives select committee on China, called for the rules, implemented last October, to be further strengthened and for China's access to advanced computing chips in the cloud to be cut off.
