FBI ‘takes down’ botnet infecting more than 700,000 computers

The FBI, in collaboration with international security agencies, has successfully taken down the Qakbot malware that infected over 700,000 computers worldwide. The malware was routed through FBI-controlled servers to separate infected computers from the botnet and uninstall the Qakbot malware. However, this action did not extend to other malware already present on the victim computers.
