Google joins hands with HP for ‘made in India’ Chromebooks

HP and Google have partnered to manufacture Chromebooks in India, in support of the government's Make in India initiative. The devices will be produced at the Flex Facility near Chennai, where HP has been manufacturing laptops and desktops since August 2020. The production of HP Chromebooks will begin in October 2023 and will mainly cater to the demand for affordable PCs in the education sector. The Chromebooks are equipped with ChromeOS and offer built-in accessibility and security features for classroom use. The collaboration aims to accelerate technology adoption in schools and promote digital transformation in education.
