DoT has important warning on ‘number disconnection’ for mobile users

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) in India has issued a warning about fraudulent calls claiming that mobile numbers will be disconnected. The DoT does not make such calls and has urged citizens to exercise caution and not provide any personal information. Mobile users are advised to verify the authenticity of such calls with their service providers, stay informed that the DoT does not communicate disconnection warnings via phone calls, and report any suspicious incidents to the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal. The DoT is working with law enforcement agencies to address these fraudulent calls.
