Oura sues Indian wearables startup Ultrahuman over patent infringement

Finnish health wearable startup Oura has filed a lawsuit against Indian rival Ultrahuman, claiming that the company copied its smart ring device and accessed proprietary information in violation of patents. Oura alleges that Ultrahuman used former employees and investors to develop its competing product. The Finnish startup also accused Ultrahuman of imitating its social media content to promote its own device. Ultrahuman founder and CEO Mohit Kumar responded by stating that his company would win in the wearables market fairly and that Oura itself has faced lawsuits for patent infringement. Oura is seeking damages and demands all profits made by Ultrahuman.
